June/July 2017: Echoes from the Hill

We played the Prince of Wales on Friday June 9 with our usual electric instruments turned up to 11 (Thanks to Beats Cartel and The Spaces). Then we slowed it right down on June 10 at The Bearded Lady, playing as our acoustic alter ego Ghost Mountain. Will and Adam took turns balladeering to the appreciative crowd in solo sets.

In a notable and poignant turn, Adam’s rendition of his ‘Song for Dad’ moved the entire Bearded Lady crowd to tears. Finally, all five of us hit the stage to perform as an acoustic group, but changing it up a little we had Mike on drums and Russ on sax.

We’re looking forward to two upcoming July shows. At West End’s Boundary Hotel on July 14 we’ll be celebrating Will’s birthday with a hat party – BYO badass hat. On July 21, we’re excited to join The Stone Fox for their album launch at The Zoo. Keep an eye on Facebook for details about the hat party and tickets to The Zoo.

Special shout out to our bass player Ben’s dad Harlie Axford, who has been awarded an Order of Australia medal for services to choral music and jazz.
